The Competitor
I am on a long flight to New Orleans to compete in New Orleans 70.3 Ironman race. Can you say let the carbo-loading begin! I’ve got the best carry-on-ever! Leftovers from Patxi’s Pizza.
My day started at 5:30am. I managed to squeeze in one last, FULL gas treadmill and swim workout, thanks to my “Coach” Meredith Kessler. The engine has been opened and my legs are ready to fly!
With a 4-hour layover in Chicago, the family and I are looking forward to dining in the “Windy City” and checking out at the competion at Giradanno’s! Obviously, pizza never gets old for this family! My husband is from Chicago and GOOD pizza is in his blood, and belly. (Yes, he was a Patxi’s Pizza fan before I worked here)
Here’s my point: NEVER be afraid of the competition. Embrace it. You always want to compete against the best, whether it be in triathlons or pizza! I look forward to meeting my competitors. It looks to be a competitive weekend on all fronts! May the best woman AND pizza win! I hope to be standing on the podium!

While you’re in Chicago check out Gino’s East. Last time I was in Chicago we ate there and it was very good, but not quite as good as the pan pizza we had at Patxi’s last month!
